The Adventist home is a home where Seventh-day Adventist standards and practices are lived and taught, a place to which Seventh-day Adventist fathers and mothers are commissioned by Christ to go and make Christians of the members of their own households. And in order to perform that task well, Seventh-day Adventist parents are looking for all the help they can possibly find.

Ellen G. White has written much and very valuable counsel for parents. She has touched upon every phase of the home, and offers specific instruction on many of the problems which give so much concern to thoughtful and often anxious parents today. Some years before her death, she indicated her desire to get out “a book for Christian parents” that would define “the mother's duty and influence over her children.” In the present work an endeavor has been made to fulfill this expectation.

This book, The Adventist Home, is at once a sort of handbook or manual for busy parents, and a pattern or ideal of what the home can and should become. Here are the answers to your many questions, the words of wisdom from the heavenly Father.

In compiling this work, excerpts have been drawn from the Ellen G. White writings penned through seven decades, but especially from the thousands of E. G. White articles which were prepared for the journals of the denomination. The current published works, special testimonies issued in pamphlet form, and the E. G. White manuscript files have also enriched the Volume. Appropriate source credits are given in connection with each chapter. As the excerpts drawn from different sources written at different times are linked together in their logical sequence, there may be occasionally a slight unavoidable break in thought or manner of address, for the compilers are limited in their work to selecting and arranging the subject matter and supplying the headings.

This document has been prepared in the office of the Ellen G. White Publications. The work has been done in harmony with Mrs. White's instruction to her trustees in providing “for the printing of compilations” from her manuscripts, for they contain, she said, “instruction that the Lord has given me for his people.”

Never in the history of the world has a book like this been needed more urgently than it is right now. Never have parents and children been more anxious for the right answer to the things which trouble them. Never have homes been in such jeopardy as they are today.

Messiah is a modern adaptation of Ellen G. White’s great work on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ—The Desire of Ages.

Satan emerged the winner in the Garden of Eden?or so he thought. He had succeeded in tempting a third of the angels in heaven to become enemies of God. Now he had led the first humans to disobey God. He was on a roll. From that point on, pain, suffering and death would fill this world. But it would not always be so. A Redeemer would take on Himself the penalty we humans deserve. God, Himself, would become ?one of us? but without sin. Jesus would pay your penalty and mine so that we could inherit eternal life in His kingdom. A Redeemer would come! The plan had been in place before the creation of Earth. Now it was time to begin to implement it. God recruited some imperfect, yet teachable, followers to spread the news: Noah, Enoch, Abraham, Moses, David and others. From the very first day sin entered our world God?s love and grace fought against it. What Satan thought of as a victory was really a defeat. The first day of sin on earth marked the beginning of the end for Satan and sin.

This second volume of the condensed Conflict of the Ages set is adapted for sharing the great truths of the original volume in a more accessible format for twenty-first-century readers. Biblical texts taken are from the New King James Version. These life stories of God's anointed ones reveal the great love and patience that God has for all of us and His desire to forgive us and to give us new hearts and minds.

Unlikely Leaders tells the story of the Christian church’s beginning. Jesus left the work in the care of eleven men who seemed, humanly speaking, to be poor choices for establishing a world-wide movement to bring a rebellious planet back to its Creator. Their number included a brash fisherman who crumpled under pressure, a young man and his brother who were so hot-headed that they earned the nickname “sons of thunder,” a tax collector who had enriched himself by working for the enemy, a patriot (“Zealot”) who may have belonged to a group known for assassinating enemy collaborators, and a loyal but doubt-filled man who could rarely see the bright side of anything. A little later someone else joined them who had originally done his best to destroy them. What could come of a group like this?

Their story is a thrilling account of what God can do with unpromising material. It should give courage and hope to anyone who wants to serve God but is carrying the baggage of the past. God specializes in doing wonderful things with people who give themselves to His cause, to follow His leading. The Bible’s Book of Acts ends abruptly, suggesting that there is more to come in the story. We may be a part of that ongoing story today, as we near its completion.

Unlikely Leaders is an adaptation of From Trials to Triumph, a 1984 condensed edition of Ellen G. White’s classic volume, The Acts of the Apostles. The condensed volume included all the chapters of the original, using only Mrs. White’s own words but shortening the account.

The current adaptation goes a step beyond this, using some words, expressions, and sentence constructions more familiar to twenty-first century readers. Most of the Bible quotations come from the New King James Version, which closely resembles the King James Version that Ellen White commonly used. It is hoped that readers who are new to her writings will enjoy this adaptation and that it will encourage them to read the original editions of her works.

This volume presents insights into the Bible’s account that will help the reader not only to understand the stories and instructions found there, but also to see how they apply to the Christian’s life today.
