This book feels mostly like a repetition rather than continuation of the first one.

There is a bit more drama (which I wanted) between the main characters at the beginning, but it quickly switches to them running around trying to solve the mistery while pretending not to have feelings for each other, just like they did in book one.

There is a bit more gang on gang violence but it's even more frustrating than not having enough before: whenever there is a major clash between the gangs it quickly fades into the background as the characters whose POV we were watching through get knocked out, flee, or talk their feelings out.

It also seemed like too much was happening - every chapter, there was a new uprisal, a new crime, new murders, new betrayals, new clues that led nowhere, heists, fake deaths, vaccines made then stolen than made again... To me it feels like fewer events that were more fleshed out (with better charachter development as well) or just a shorter, tighter story would have been better.

Overall, not bad but kinda meh, which for me is 3 stars.
