Премия Жаклин Боград Вельд - национальная американская награда за «выдающуюся биографию, обладающую заметными литературными достоинствами".

Лауреатом премии признается автор произведения исключительной литературной, повествовательной и художественной ценности, основанное на скрупулезных исследованиях.

Награда была учреждена Родманом Л. Дрейком (Rodman L. Drake) в 2008 году. Эта премия является одной из многих наград PEN, спонсируемых международными филиалами PEN в более чем 145 PEN-центрах по всему миру.

На получение премии могут претендовать биографии, опубликованные в США в течение предыдущего календарного года. Книга должна быть работой автора, написанной о другом человеке, т.е. мемуары и автобиографии к конкурсу не принимаются.
Выдвигать работы на получение награды могут только издатели или литературные агенты. Сами авторы не могут представить свою книгу.

Премия вручается ежегодно в феврале. Победитель получает чек на сумму в размере 5000 долларов.
